multinational teaching. Their seagoing and shore experience gained as nautical
officers or marine engineers up to command level and beyond.
Human resource management is a
cornerstone of any ship owning or management company. A company’s ability to
provide professional seafarers for its ships, to inspire and maintain loyalty in
its crews and to improve the qualifications of seafarers through specialized
training is paramount.
It was and still is necessary to provide seafarers with additional training to
meet some clients standards. HMTS was established in the depths of a shipping
crisis when few companies had such long-term strategic vision of future needs.
Apart from a highly experienced and
motivated team HMTS has many and varied recourses.
HMTS has invested in its training staff, regarding this as priority. In
addition, training aids range from some technically sophisticated simulators to
basic hand tools. All play their part.
Accommodation for up to 75 trainees. Hotel services include recreational
facilities and waterfront access. Catering training facilities for five cooks
and up to six messmen/stewards.
Radar Simulator - Sea Information Systems (SIS) have produced one of the most
sophisticated simulators incorporating both ARPA and ECDIS. Regarded as state of
the art, Sisradar 6 with Microplot 7 ECDIS is certainly a most valuable tool
towards the goal of safer navigation.
Ship Analytics – WISE cargo is a sophisticated tool for the provision of
training in every aspect of conducting bulk liquid cargo operations. The system
allows the operator to conduct complex training scenarios. Coupled to the
simulator is an ‘instructor’ module that will provide feedback to a student or
operator with respect to how an operation is being conducted concerning safety,
operating procedures and efficiency.
A fully equipped workshop with multiple facilities for all aspects of practical
engineering training.
