Our Mission:

HMTS was established in 1983 to provide
a pool of seafarers, trained to meet the industry’s high quality standards. It
has since made its own success and has now the approval of many individual flag
states. Amongst its many successes, in 1998 the school was given the Lloyds
“Youth & Training Award” for its outstanding and consistent contribution to
training within the maritime industry.
With the support of the Cyprus Administration and ISO 9001 2000 certification,
HMTS has established itself as a truly international maritime training center.
We welcome trainees from all sectors of the industry who like us recognize that
ships are only as good as the men and women who sail in them.
The Principal and staff are from varied backgrounds and different nationalities.
However they share a common goal; that is to train seafarers within a quality
system based on continuous improvement and a commitment where possible to exceed
regulatory requirements.
It is our ultimate objective to create an open, positive and rewarding learning
training environment for employees and clients alike so that all may reach their
full potential.
Long before ISM became mandatory, HSC was at the forefront of the industry in
adopting the highest quality assurance code of practice required by ISMA. At the
heart of this was the necessity, through the school to supply clients with
qualified, well trained seafarers. This remains at the core of our business.
Courses are conducted in English except where a particular client requires
otherwise. Certificates are issued by the Cyprus Administration and
internationally recognized and endorsed as being in full compliance with the
requirements of STCW 1978 as amended in 1995.
